Program Coordinator
CEN hereby invites applications from suitable and qualified Nepalese professionals for the position of Program Coordinator, to be based in Lalitpur, with travel, as required. This is a full time position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- CEN mainly works on the themes of air pollution, climate change, clean air and urban mobility. The Program Coordinator is responsible for overall lead in the design, development and implementation of CEN program and projects; primarily represent the Partnerships and Program Development Unit; works in close coordination with all team members and reports to Executive Director.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of CEN projects
- Work in close coordination with all team members and play a facilitation role for proposal writing
- Ensure timely and effective implementation of projects and program in line with the action plan, targets and deadlines
- Prepare proposals, plan of action and donor reports in coordination with other team-members
- Networking and partnership building with likeminded partners and donor agencies to develop new programs in line with CEN’s vision and mission and acquire support
- Facilitate fundraising and resource mobilization processes on the issues that CEN works on
- Review final proposals/ reports before donor submission
- Represent CEN in relevant meetings locally, regionally, nationally and internationally
- Perform any other duties required for the effective functioning of the organization and as assigned by the ED, or any one assigned by the Board.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Management, Engineering or any other relevant field with four to six years of work experience.
COMPETENCIES:
- Sound understanding of climate change, energy and other contemporary environment and devel-opment issues in national and international context including the main actors, challenges, oppor-tunities, strategies and policies
- Proven record of successful project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and man-agement of development projects, their funds, human resources and partners
- Willingness to travel both locally and internationally.
- Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, reporting and writing skills
- Proven networking and partnership building skills and ability to maintain good relations with di-verse individuals, government agencies and organizations
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with cultural sensitivity in writing and verbally with a diverse group of CEN members, partners, and the general public.

Research and Knowledge Management Officer
Research and Knowledge Management Officer, to be based in Lalitpur, with travel, as required. This is a full-time position.The Research & Knowledge Management Unit of CEN is responsible to design, implement and document relevant and contemporary research in the thematic focus of CEN and its program and project priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Documentation Officer will work to achieve the objective of CEN’s Research and Knowledge Management Unit. The Program Documentation Officer will closely work with the Senior Program Officer under the Research and Knowledge Management Unit while also collaborating with the Program Development and Partnership Unit and Advocacy and Communication Unit of the organization.
- Responsible for project documentation, communication as well as generation of research and evidence output for CEN in its thematic priorities.
- Assist to conduct activities of Clean Air Unit in collaboration with line manager.
- Assist in preparation of project action plans, event organization, reporting.
- Work closely with the multiple stakeholders as per the need while implementing CENs programs and projects under the supervision of line manager.
- Contribute in a proposal development and raising resources for the organization.
- Assist in analysis of relevant national and sub-national policies and programs in the organizational thematic focus areas
- Represent CEN in relevant meetings in various levels as guided by the line manager
- Assist in monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs of CEN based on the agreed deliverables with the donors.
- Perform any other duties, as assigned by the line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Management, Engineering or any other relevant field with 3 years of work experience
- Experience in generation of knowledge and evidence in the field of environment, energy, climate change and air quality
- Experience in research and evidence-based advocacy and communication.
- Experience in capacity building and mobilization of CSOs and networks
- Experience in project development and proposal writing for resource generation
- Proven experience in project implementation with the engagement of multiple stakeholders would be an advantage
COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of national, subnational and international policies, acts and strategies on CEN thematic focus areas, i.e. sustainable energy use and environmental conservation, energy and climate change, clean air and urban mobility.
- Familiarity with the key stakeholders in climate change sector in Nepal including the government, academia, media, research organizations etc.
- Adequate knowledge on status of implementation of energy, climate change and air pollution and urban mobility regime policies and programs formulated by the Government of Nepal
- Ability to organize and facilitate different trainings and consultations (both virtual and in person)
- Ability to design and implement various survey and research tools for information collection and analyze them
- Knowledge of MS office Package, Website updates, social media tools
- Demonstrated experience in interpreting and administering policies pertaining to local national laws
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with cultural sensitivity in writing and verbally with a diverse group of CEN members, partners, and the general public.
